phone disconnects when it gets new ip address over wifi

Using a T48G, the yealink wifi adapter and firmware 35.80.0.95... I am testing two phones and both of the disconnect periodically throughout the day even when you are on a call. The phone says something like "getting ip address" and then you reconnect. The call is still there but there was silence for 10-20 seconds during this process. This behavior does not happen when using the wired connection.
