T46G and EXP40 Directed Call Pickup from BFL issues
I have a batch of T46G phones that I just bought. I have a EXP40 with each of them. I have turned on the option features.pickup.blf_visual_enable so that I get an on screen popup with one of the BLF monitored extensions gets a call. I am using this with Asterisk 1.8.26.1. The phones are running 28.72.0.1. I have set the features.pickup.direct_pickup_code = ** as is needed with Asterisk

When I configure a BLF key on extension 4661 on the main phone screen (linekey) to extension 4660 and call 4660 from 4662 I get the message on the screen of 4661 showing that there is a call from 4662 to 4660 as expected. If I push pickup the phone dials **4660 and picks up the call.

If I configure a BLF key on extension 4661 on the EXP40 (expansion_module) to extension 4660 and call 4660 from 4662 I get the message on the screen of 4661 showing that there is a call from 4662 to 4660 as expected. however, when I push pickup the phone only dials ** (not **4460) and cannot pick up the call.

Is there something different I have to do on the EXP40 or is this a bug?

Thank you,

-Nick

I can't reproduce your issue in my T46G+EXP40 with asterisk. The pick up function can work well.
------------------------
#!version:1.0.0.1
##It enables or disables the phone to display the DPickup soft key when the phone is in the pre-dialing screen.
##0-Disabled,1-Enabled.
##The default value is 0.
features.pickup.direct_pickup_enable = 1

##It configures the directed call pickup code.
##The default value is blank.
features.pickup.direct_pickup_code = **
------------------------
1. Please reset to factory and test again.
2. If it is a BUG, please ask your distributor for help. They can submit your bugs to the corresponding tehcnial specialist. Forum isn't an official technical support module of Yealink.

Thank you for the fast response. Following you suggestions I tried factory resetting the phone and from the webpage for the phone added my SIP account, enabled direct pickup and set the pickup code to **. I also enabled Visual Alert for BLF Pickup as that is the feature I am having issues with. I then added one BLF to the linekey and tested and the visual alert feature worked, I was able to pickup the call from the on screen popup. I then removed it from the linekey and setup the BLF on the expansion_module and the visual alert failed to pick up the call correctly (again only dialing ** instead of **4660). I made no other changes to the config of the phone.

Again its only the visual alert that is failing, otherwise direct pickup works correctly on both the linekey and expansion_module.

If you have any other thoughts I would appreciate it, I can't understand what I'm doing differently than you, but if the Visual Alert for BLF Pickup can pick up a call from an extension monitored on the EXP40 for you then I must be doing something wrong. I will keep trying. Thank you very much for your help!

Sorry. It seems that you need to cancle the visual alert prompt first then press BLF key to pick up the call.
