I have resolved #1 and #3 (SIP server registration and Backlighting) by downgrading to 7.61.0.70.rom on the handsets, and for backlighting I used

Code:

[ PhoneSetting ]

path = /config/Setting/Setting.cfg

BacklightTime = 1

To make it work properly.

I have also managed to get the phone list to show up as well. There are some serious limitations here that don't quite make much sense -- the file must be called "contactData1.xml"

It looks like this stuff doesn't get picked up correctly on the latest firmware -- or has the config file template changed? I'd like to run the latest firmware if possible - the older firmware is somewhat buggy/freezy.
