Audio Delay - Disable Jitter Buffer? - joni1802 - 07-04-2023 04:48 AM

Hello everyone,

is it possible to completely disable the jitter buffer on yealink devices? We are using the T33G and there is a noticeable audio delay on the receiving end with the default jitter buffer settings (min 20, max 240 and normal 120). I have tested the delay on the LAN and the delay was around 350ms. Changing the min max and normal value to zero and the buffer to fixed improves the delay by around 100ms. So the audio delay is at around 250ms. Maybe disabling the jitter buffer at all will improve the delay further.

Kind regards
Joni

Hi Joni,

Unfortunately, it is not possible to disable the jitter buffer, but you can set larger ranges.
Range of Min, Max and Normal Delay is: 0 to 400 ms
Maybe this will solve the issue.

Thank you for your response. I was hoping that something like this is possible. I did the same test with the T54W and this model has no noticeable audio lag. I have measured less than 40ms of audio delay for this model. Seems like it is only a problem with the lower end devices like the T33G.
Would be great if there will be a fix for this in the future.

I have opened a ticket with yealink for this issue.
They have send me a new firmware which fixes the problem Smile. The new firmware version is 124.86.250.21 and is currently not yet available on the SIP-T33G model support page. So if you are using the phone with the firmware 124.86.0.40 you might have the same problem.

Glad to read that the problem has been solved.
