Strange problem here:

On a T46S with 66.84.0.10 firmware, I programmed a speeddial DSSKey with an external number. When I use it, I hear about one second of sound then the call becomes silent (but doesn't hangup).

If I dial the same number manually, everything is fine. I was able to reproduce the problem on 2 different systems (FreePBX) with 2 different T46s phones. For now, I only have one phone number that does this. It's probably related to the phone system of the person I'm calling, but the fact that everything is fine when not using the DSSKey speeddial is really strange.

Is there a difference between a speeddial and dialing a call manually ?

The FreePBX log confirms this:

Ok, more info:

The template does show linekey.XX.extension = ** so I guess that's where the ** comes from.
However, I removed the ** manually in the template, rebooted the phone, provisonned it and downloaded the configuration from the phone. The ** are still there.

Is this working the way it's supposed to ?

Try factory resetting the phone and then re-provisioning... or changing your provision key to be:
static.linekey.XX.extension = %NULL%

See if that makes a difference as it sounds like the configuration is not taking/being applied.
