Answering this myself so anyone who might find a similar problem could use it as solution:

It's quiet simple as it is effective: just disable the Call Waiting tone in the Features menu below the "Call Waiting" setting. This way, there is no "busy now" code sent and no annoying beep while talking with the current partner.
