Huh

Can't find anywhere on the device or via web configuration to change the background image to match the sunflower image used in advertising for this phone. Customer is a children's boutique and largely approved the phone purchase based on the pleasing image image which is fit for their environment.

The sunflower is everywhere, in every sales item description and image across the internet. Its even in slicks. Its everywhere except in a configurable option.

Do I need to return these phones or am i just missing the setup steps?

For American customers, they have built a specific mail. --> support.usa@yealink.com
For the other area customers, they also built another specific mail. --> support@yealink.com

Thanks Complex. Still don't understand why they are picking and choosing which threads to respond in. Obviously this is clearly an advertising failure and they don't want it to gain any traction. This is just a waste of time and resources. Should have went with another brand if this is the kind of support we are going to get.

Cindy. Di you and James discuss your answers before replying? You say you don't support the feature. James says you support the background in a custom firmware. So what is it? Do I need to pay extra to get the custom firmware?

Very sorry for the late reply from Yealink.

The original forum administrator just leave Yealink some while ago and we are now re-assigning the forum to others which cause some delay to some post.

The sunflower wallpaper can’t be set to a public firmware now. It needs a special firmware customization.

Because not every users like that wallpaper, we don’t set it as a wallpaper in a public firmware.

As you can see above I was told a couple of different versions of answers. In truth, I'm just thankful someone is responding at this point. However, the responses have confused the issue a little and I would like some clarity. thanks.

James@yealink.com just sent me a message that states you do support it in a custom firmware. Since you advertised the background in every phone image on every sales website it would be beneficial to add the functionality to an available firmware or make the custom firmware available for download. There is no rational reason to not offer the ability to upload background images provided you control the image type, dimensions and weight of the upload. Either way, I implemented these phones in a boutique that was sold on the visual background contained in the advertising. Right or wrong, some people approve implementations based on how they look in their environment. Apple has built an empire on this premise. If it looks good then it sells. Please tell me this feature will be made available in a public firmware soon or that I can download the custom firmware. If not then please steer me towards RMA department and expect appropriate reviews where these items were ordered.
