I think what the support guys are trying to say is that Firmware regression is NOT part of the factory default (wouldn't make sense anyway... its called firmware for a reason, in that it is written to flash and stored... there can only ever be one). Never had been able to be "rolled back" (at least not for the last 4 years that we've been using Yealink product).

Far more likely is what Yealink is trying to tell you... when you default the phone, it reverts to it's default provisioning settings, and is grabbing some other firmware off your tftp server or some other host.

You can prove 100% for sure by doing a simple test. Boot up a phone, go to it's menu and view the firmware version. Then, issue a factory reset. As soon as the phone shows "resetting" disconnect the network cable, and leave it unplugged until the reset completes and the phone boots back up again. Check the firmware version. It should still be the same as previous.

Ok, I use POE so I've ordered an DC adapter.
