Thanks for letting me know. It's amazing that it's been 6 months since this was reported and it still hasn't been fixed.

It really isn't a great advertisement for Yealink.

I found a 7.72.0.61 ROM for the T22 and that fixed the problem.

I found a 7.72.0.61 ROM for the T22 and that fixed the problem.

Thanks for posting, but as Yealink haven't posted on the website, I can only assume it might have other issues on top of the current ones.

It would be great if Yealink support could comment on when the next stable firmware release will be?

Hi all,

Is there any news on this rom, does it resolve the Backlight issue without breaking other functions?

I have 15 of the T22p phones in use in our office and am getting complaints the backlight issue is "distracting"

I think the only way to be sure Tim, is to try it on 1 handset and see if the redial and history bugs manifest themselves.

You could always downgrade your handsets to get rid of the 'flashing'.

Hi guys,

I confirm the new firmware 7.72.0.61 solved the issue with the backlight turning on and off every 2 minutes.
I've downloaded the one provided by sdick3 on the top of the page 5.

As they said the next official release will be 7.73.0.0, should be coming soon.

My T22P has been plagued with this issue - periodic lighting of the backlight - for over a year. Every few months or so I've updated the firmware in the hopes of a fix.

Finally! I just downloaded and installed v.7.73.0.40 and so far the backlight has not come on by itself!

Congratulations and thanks to Yealink for (eventually) fixing this.

(By the way, just watched the final episode of "The Fall" season 2 and in place of the usual Cisco desktop phones it looked like they had Yealinks. Nice product placement.)

I just upgraded the firmware on two T22P phones to v.7.73.0.40, and they are still flashing and making a sound like a quarter-second of dialtone, about every 2.5 minutes. I'm very new to IP telephony, and readily admit that it may be a setting on my part. All of my sessions are set to 300 seconds, IIRC.
