Not sure I follow... why would Yealink need to support multiple drivers? They don't have multiple firmwares for their phones, at least not for the phones that have a USB port. Wifi N/AC is built on standards, so if Yealink finds one AC driver that works with their phone firmware, that's all it should take.... I think. Smile

Agreed. Yealink will most likely do the same as they do with the bluetooth option: pick one chipset that's supported in the mainline Kernel, include the driver for that chipset into their firmware build, and then sell the "Yealink Usb Wifi adapter" through their normal sales channels as usual. They could do that today without issue, the key point is the firmware doesn't have any GUI/way to configure the wifi... so they need to wait for the R+D guys to write a new interface, do the usual QA/testing, etc

RE: WiFi for T46G
Hi, Just to confirm, the T46G does not currently have wifi capabilities or an accessory that will turn it wifi. I need to purchase a Ethernet to Wifi adapter. We have spent hours with the Verizon store. They had us go purchase a basic wifi usb adapter. I am unable to get the phone to acknowledge it. So the phone has a screen to turn wifi on in the anticipation that you will eventually release a firmware that will work with something such as the basic usb adapter. I am just being specific so I can share your information with my employer. She spent time at the Verizon store yesterday and they swore the T46G has wifi capabilities at this time. Thanks

My name is Pete Zito with Zito Telecom. I am new to the Yealink Forum but not so new to reselling Yealink products.

My issue is.....I have a potential client that needs about 4-5 T46G's but wants them ALL Wi-Fi and doesn't want to run Cat5/6 cables.

I spoke to my Distributor and they weren't much help :/

What would be my best bet for this situation?

Thanks,

Pete Zito
Hi Pete,
Sorry currently our T46G do not support WI-FI, but our future firmware will support it.
Thanks.
