Thanks.

Hi,

I already installed the latest version.
It's 3 phones I bought and they all have the same problem.
All 3 of them are upgraded to the latest firmware version (including the headset)

RE: Searching for Base
Hi Michael,

Do you mean you have upgraded your handset and base to the latest firmware version and the issue is still on?
I also want to check the use scenario with you.
1. Where you deploy your base and handsets? In your office? Is there many metal object? Or any obstacle? And how far of your handset and base?
2. The handset will change to "Searching for base" automatically, and you didn't do any operation before this?
3. How long it will reconnect again after appear "Searching for base" ?
4. no-LLDP OR VLAN?
4. How is your network? Is it good enough?
5. If the problem is still, please set the Log Level as 6(webpage-Phone-Configuation), and reboot the phone, after the issue appear again, export the System Log to us.
Sorry for the inconvenience and thanks.

Hi,

1. Yes it's in the office without any obstacles. De distance is 2 meters
2. It's random. Sometimes I'm not doing anything and somethings I'm in a phone call.
3. it takes a couple of minutes
4. Just normal, no special configuration. Network is new, 1 Gbit connection.
5. I will do this, where can I send the log to?

RE: Searching for Base
I'm having the same issue too and mine seemed to start when the 4th handset was registered to the base, perhaps a coincidence? All Handsets and base unit are the most recent V.50 firmware.

RE: Searching for Base
Hi innovative_mike,

Yes, it may need to keep synchronization with the base when a new handset register to the base.
If your handset "searching for base" at intervals, please check below steps:

1. check whether your network is stable
2. disable LLDP to try again
3. in the idle interface of handset, press OK button->Settings->System Settings, make sure you don't enable ECO+ and ECO mode.

If you configure ECO mode, Eco mode greatly reduces the transmission power and signal output when the
phone is in the talk mode. The attenuation range is 20m. When the distance between the base station and the handset is over 20m, the eco mode is disabled automatically.

If you configure ECO+ mode, Eco mode+ turns off the transmission power and the radio waves emitted are virtually zero when the phone is in the standby mode. If the eco mode+ is enabled, and there is no signal interaction between the handset and the base
station, the color of the signal strength indicator on the idle screen displays in green. When a call comes in or a connection occurs, the phone exits the eco mode+ automatically, and the signal strength indicator on the idle screen changes from green to white.

4. reset the base to factory and try again.

RE: Searching for Base
After reading the previous posts I did check the VLAN & LLDP settings and I disabled the LLDP and re-booted the base station per the previous discussion the problem did not reoccur while I was onsite and the customer was instructed to contact me if the problem should reoccur. The network is stand alone VOIP with an E-MetroTel UCx50 server with 9-Yealink desk phones and 4-W52 phones registered to 1 base station. I will check the handsets for Eco or Eco+ settings if the problem persists. Thank you.

The problem is definately related to the addition of the 4th handset.

I checked everything you had previously mentioned and the problem still persisted so I deregistered/disabled the 4th handset and the problem went away. I tried a different 802.3af POE switch thinking the problem might be power/RF related and the problem persisted until the 4 handset was disabled.

Now the customer would like to return the 4th handset since it doesn't work and it also causes the other 3 handsets not to work.

Ideas? Suggestions?
