RE: Searching for Base
I understand this is a super old thread, but I am currently having this issue.
W52P Base Firmware: 25.73.0.40 and 25.73.193.40
Handset Firmware: 26.73.0.11

The phones are unusable. As frequently as every 30 minutes it displays an "Out of Range" message, then "Searching for base...", then "Synchronizing". The phone is literally unusable for 5 minutes as it cycles through these messages. We just deployed 5 of these and it's happening to ALL OF THEM. If there's a secret firmware that resolves this please post a new link to it, as the link referenced in this thread is no longer active.

RE: Searching for Base
Hi.

Can Yealink please address this issue. Looking at the threads this has been going on for a while now. I'm using 25.73.0.40 base and tried the 26.73.0.14 handset firmware.

Periodically all the phones on our network goes to "searching for base" and cannot be used during this time. YOu must know of this issue as it is clearly affecting everyone.

Is their any plans to fix this once and for all? I have not had any issues with any other Yelaink phones but the W52's are a nightmare at present - if no fix is going to be released we'll have to move to another brand's DECT phones.

Yealink - can you please advise if a permanent fix for this known issue is imminent.

RE: Searching for Base
Hi,

My supplier has provided me with a test handset firmware they apparently got from Yealink that addresses this issue. I have no idea why Yealink support does not provide it here, but to date it appears to have fixed the issue.

I have attached it to this post. Maybe it helps someone.

RE: Searching for Base
I have also encountered this problem intermittently with two different bases with the 25.73.0.40 firmware. All of handsets have the 26.73.0.11 firmware.

Hello good afternoon,

No, our forum friend posted a firmware supposed to solve the problem, but could not climb this that made available here in the forum. Someone updated and managed?

RE: Searching for Base
Just setup 1 base with 2 handset and am experiencing the same on our handset that has 26.73.0.11. and base has 25.73.0.40 I have not noticed it yet on the other handset with (I believe is) 26.30.0.10. I seen someone posted a 26.73.254.156, did that solve anyone's problems?
We are just in testing phase but I see this issue goes back a couple years, are you guys still using these phones or have you changed to another?
Thanks for the feedback!

RE: Searching for Base
Update: First day of in production use lost 2 calls when searching for base dropped them. These phones will not work in a production environment. Looking into Cisco and other alternatives. Not sure if I trust Yeahlink wireless phones now. We had latest firmware on base and handset. But second handset order at same time was different HW version, not sure it that was issue but time to move on. Never got response from Yeahlink in forum or email. Bye bye Yealink.

Hi Eric
Which wireless phones did you switch too? I have had great success with Polycom desktop phones but looking at the Cisco SPA302D wireless. Yealink or YeadDROP w52 does not appear to be stable and I am not going to gamble on their new W56. The w52 left a bad impression. $100 more for other brands is fine, just wanted a reliable phone that WORKS.
If anyone is following this thread, please update us.
Thank you everyone

RE: Searching for Base
I’ve encountered the problem several more times recently. In one such instance it occurred repeatedly even when the handset was close to the base. I finally powered the handset off and then on in an attempt to clear the condition. Although the battery indicator clearly showed about a half charge was still available before I powered the handset off, it was red after I powered it back on. I wonder now if a depleted battery charge is the underlying cause of the searching for base problem.
