T42G + EHS36 + Plantronics CS540
I have T42G that was running v29.80.0.60

I bought the EHS36 & CS540, connected them and everything worked perfectly.

I could be wearing the headset, a call would ring in and I could answer by pushing the button.

The phone has always been configured via auto provisioning.

I updated the firmware on the phone today to T42-29.80.0.70 and now the headset no longer functions like it used to.

Now when a call rings in, if I push the button on the headset, the headset comes on, but the call does not answer. I have to push answer on the desk phone.

Similarly, if I dial a number and hit send, the phone dials, but the headset never tuns on.

It seem that the T42G/EHS36 are no longer correctly communicating with the CS540.

Prior to upgrading firmware this morning, it has not worked this way for the month that I have had this headset.

I downgraded the firmware back to 29.80.0.60 but the headset still does not function as it used to.

Did something in the upgrade change something on the EHS36 itself?

How do I fix this?

Just read the EHS36 upgrade guide and noticed that it can be upgraded with a T38G. I happen to have one laying around so I plugged in the EHS36 to the T38 and it shows the following information.

Can I do something to move the EHS36 to a different firmware version?

Following the process upgrade document,
http://support.yealink.com/documentFront...cumentId=8

I insert the EHS and is shows it as 3.16.0.0 and says reinsert.

I reinsert and it says update failed. I used firmware 38.70.0.162 on my T38G to try this downgrade.

I have no idea what version of firmware the EHS36 had prior to today as I never even knew I needed to check it.

RE: T42G + EHS36 + Plantronics CS540
Ok, I resolved this problem by reverting back to 29.73.0.50. As soon as the phone finished booting with the 29.73.0.50 firmware, I heard the CS540 base click active. I pushed the button on the headset to deactivate it and I knew it was going to work before i even picked it up to test.

This does not explain why the EHS previously worked with 29.80.0.60.

After confirming everything working correctly, I upgraded to 29.80.0.60. The headset no longer worked correctly. I downgraded back to 29.73.0.50 and it worked correctly again.

This is a problem with the new firmware for the phone and obviously not a problem with the 3.16.0.0 EHS firmware.

Hello,

we are using the T46G + EHS36 + Plantronics Savi W720 and there is the same problem.
In the new version 35.80.0.70 there is no call controll over the headset possible.

Is a new configuration required or is there any other solution?

RE: T42G + EHS36 + Plantronics CS540
Hello,
I would like to bump this thread to the top.

We are having the same exact issue with multiple clients.
We are using T42G in 29.73.0.50 firmware together with EHS36 and Plantronics Savi 720.

Everything works fine until you upgrade the phone (T42) to the newer firmware T42-29.80.0.70. After the upgrade its not possible to pickup a call with the headset button.
That renders the device useless ...

Please don't come with a "solution" like: Please, check the 3.5mm DJ jack!
The phone works perfectly, upgrade the phone to new firmware and it doesnt work anymore... you cant blame that on the 3.5mm DC jack.
If you downgrade to the older firmware, then it works perfectly again.

I hope this will be resolved quickly.

Thanks in advance,
Nathan Kestier.

Hello,

having same issue here with T42G, EHS36 and Plantronics CS510.
Phones was delivered with firmware 29.80.0.70, with this pickup a call with the headset button is not possible.
Downgrading firmware to 29.73.0.50 everything works.

Using the CS510 with a T46G on 28.80.0.70 is working fine.

Greets Ben.

Hi Ben,

how do you get the T46G+EHS36 work with the CS510?

I have the same firmware but there is no ringtone on incoming calls with the headset. i can only hear some "beeps".

Sorry for our overlook about this post.

Can you kindly tell me the detail scenario? You mean te same problem, but i do not know the same with who, so please tell me what is the headset that you use?
And what is the problem when you use the headset?
Also, please tell me the firmware of the EHS. Then do a test again with the latest firmware version:
http://download.support.yealink.com/down...1.0.70.zip

And then provide the level 6 syslog, config.bin and pace trace for us to do more trouble shooting. Refer to the FAQ below to get the three file:
http://support.yealink.com/faq/faqInfo?id=313

Thank you for your info in advanced.
You can also send the info to Lucia@yealink.com

The last firmware resolve my issue.

My probleme was T42G + EHS36 + Plantronics CS540 not working properly :

When the phone rings, and you press the button on headset to pick up the call, it just put the headset on, and does not pick up the call.

When I want to make a call, I press the button on headset, it should pick up the line but does not.
