Yealink w80: handsets do not send 100 trying
Hardware:
1x w80DM (103.83.0.80)
3x w80B
7x W53 handset

Situation:
out of the 7 handsets/accounts, several do not send back a 100 trying on an invite request.
so they start ringing, but do not confirm to the sip server they are ringing.

this causes them to continue ringing (and even allowing for picking up a non-existent call) when it has been answered elsewhere.
it also causes them to be able to pick up a call without actually picking up (the phone will display connected, but the call will not have been picked up since there has been no confirmation sent to the server)

there is no problem on the netwerk, nat, or server (since some do it correctly and ALL fixed yealink devices work fine)

is there a setting that can be changed to prevent this, or is this an actual bug which has not yet been reported/fixed?

Dear Customer,

This is Albert from Yealink Technical Support Team. Nice to work with you.

RE: Yealink w80: handsets do not send 100 trying
Hi Albert,

Do you have a changelog for this release?

About the issue:

The issues appear like this:

- setting the bases to 4 active handsets (so, 3 bases, 4/base = 12 active handsets)
- there are 7 handsets
- atleast 4 of them should be in reach of 2 bases
- there is no call waiting activated
=> this causes several handsets to not reply to the invite, but start ringing anyway (causing issues like answering a non-confirmed call, keep ringing after hangup, ...)

- setting the bases to 8 active handsets solves this issue

My question now is: does this mean that we will run into issues again if there are 9 handsets,
and why is this happening when i would assume to be able to have 12 active handsets in this setup, while only having 7?

Hi,

From your description, changing 4 to 8 solves this problem. It may be because you connected all 7 controllers to one base, please check.

This parameter(see the attachment) means the maximum number of handles that each base can talk to at the same time. Exceeding this number will cause some handles to fail to ring.

What's more, have you ever import W60 configuration files directly to W80B?

Best Regards,
Albert

Albert,

We have not imported any previous config, the w80 setup is a completely new setup.

Though the handsets would probably be closest to 1 cell, atleast 4 of them should be in range of 2 cells.
