W60B: "get_ip failed ret= -1" in system log
Hi All,

I initially created this topic in another sub-forum, so I'm posting it now here.

The SysLog on my W60B has lots of these messages:

Code:
DEBS[974]: DESV<3+error > 036.105.251:get_ip failed ret= -1
DEBS[974]: DESV<3+error > 096.105.325:get_ip failed ret= -1
DEBS[974]: DESV<3+error > 156.104.719:get_ip failed ret= -1
DEBS[974]: DESV<3+error > 216.104.635:get_ip failed ret= -1

These appear once a minute, every minute.

LogLevel 6 around this error looks like this:

Code:

The W60B gets its IP address from a DHCP server (Mikrotik). It gets the address and renews it as expected, so I don't see any issues with that. But this error in the log makes me think something may be wrong...

Can someone please advise what it means and whether I may need to take some actions to fix it?

My W60B firmware version is 77.83.0.85, which seem to be the latest one currently available.

Hi,

What I like to know is are you using OpenVPN?
or try to reset to factory default and check again.

Kind regards,
Frank.

I don't use OpenVPN.

I just did a factory reset, then I:
- configured a SIP account (to my Asterisk machine)
- set up Syslog to an external syslog server
- configured time sync (NTP)
That's it.

I still see same errors in the log coming up every minute.

Hi,

Please try again all steps but then without config a SIP account?
(Reset, Syslog, NTP)

Edit:
Could also have to be something to do with certificates.
Please downgrade the base to previous firmware version W60B-77.83.0.65.rom

I did a factory reset, and then just added the Syslog server.
The error message appeared again...

Downgrading firmware to 77.83.0.65 makes no difference as well... I still see the message appearing in Syslog every minute.

I have another W60B on this network. I just checked there, and it also throws these errors to the log. That device is currently running 77.83.0.10.

Hi Andre,

Maybe an other forum member can chime in, but I think if you encounter no issues then leave it as it is.

Kind regards,
Frank.
