DSS Keys on T42S with DD10K
Hi,

How do you program the DSS keys after the firmware has been flashed (currently 66.82.0.40.rom on T42S, and 77.81.0.35 on W60B) on a T42S? I see the VERY limited options on Menu->Features->DSS keys, but this doesn't really do much.

I really need some BLF's/Call Park or this new hardware is a paperweight.

Thanks!

Can you access the web interface of the phone to program DSS keys?

You could configure them via provisioning and a custom config file.

Hope you have some paper you need held in place... Yealink has not implemented BLFs in DD10K/DECT mode yet. They also have no call park, no XML browser, and many other features that you would expect to be there. Basically the DD10K just lets a T41/T42 act as a W56P with all the same underlying limitations.

From a technical point of view this is not necessarily Yealink's fault, the underlying DECT is designed for a much more basic voice application compared to full out IP wireless solutions. On the other hand though, Yealink has made no visible effort to emphasize/display this difference and limitation to VARs/customers, so many people right now are expecting something more than what is actually available.

Right now if you want fully featured cordless desk phone your best bet is to get the WiFi adapter instead. I hear that Yealink may be launching an upgraded version of that adapter in the relatively near future to finally implement 5Ghz also, so when that happens there will definitely be some more flexibility.
