Setup to answer one phone from another in group
Hi everyone,

I've got a VoIP system using a hosted VoIP provider. On the system I have 3 T46G and two T41P phones.

I've managed to successfully set up BLF DSS keys so that on each phone I can see the status of each extension, and transfer calls between the phones. What I need to do, however, and what I am absolutely struggling to do, is to set up the system so that I can answer one phone that is ringing within the group from another.

I understand this is something to do with Group Pickup and Call Pickup settings, and have tried using codes such as *20*, *97, *98 and *8, but all I get when I do this is the phone attempting to dial the other extension when I press the relevant DSS key, rather than it trying to pick the call up.

Here is what my system entries look like at present:

Hi,

BLF key is not only allow you to monitor the status of the extension and transfer call but also allow you to pick up a call with a BLF key.
For example, if you configure a line key as a BLF key to monitor extension 100.
When someone call 100 and 100 is ringing, the BLF key LCD will illuminates frequent red, if you press the BLF key of 100 in this time, the call will be pickup via your IP phone, and 100 will stop ringing and turn to idle.
Maybe this is what you want, if my understanding is wrong, please kindly correct me.

Thank you.

Best Regards

Daniel, I think he wants to know what the pickup code is.
For that we need to know what hosted pbx you are using.
Some do not provide this service.

I think the extension value needs to be filled in however, and maybe one of the codes will work.

Hi,

Thank you for your comments, Craigreilly.

To Paul,
About the pickup code, please contact your service provider for help.
Then please enter the pickup code into the extension value.
For example, the PBX is 3CX, the pickup code is *20*, you will be able to pickup a entension by BLF keys after configured like this:

If there is any question, please feel free to contact us.

Best regards

This is true. Not every hosted PBX has group answering enabled...which is also killing us. The work around is exactly what Yealink support suggested either using BLF pickup or forward the group in a timeout to a single user pickup.

Daniel, although this is how the 3cx template is configured, we did not have luck with this working for us.
We had to put the extension into both fields on the BLF page and put the pickup code into another tab.
