T28P and the auth-user-pass mistery
Dear all,

i would like to connect to a vpn server that asks user-password authetication.

Some voices in the net says this optoin is not supported, but:

1) this thread says that T2X model should support the "auth-user-pass" option:

http://forum.yealink.com/forum/showthread.php?tid=332

2) the famous pdf
http://www.yealink.com/Upload/T2X/201311...Phones.pdf
says:
Quote:OpenVPN operates as a client-server application. After enabling the Open VPN feature on IP phones, the IP phones act as VPN clients and use pre-shared secret keys, certificates, or user name/password to authenticate the Open VPN server

So, i am still not able to connect. Is someone here been able to connect with auth-user-pass in T28P phones ? I upgraded now to last firmware 2.73.0.40, nothing changes.

Every help is really appreciated.
Thanks

RE: T28P and the auth-user-pass mistery
is it possible in a yealink forum, no one knows if openvpn "auth-user-pass" is supported ?
At least a "no" would be appreciated.

RE: T28P and the auth-user-pass mistery
Hi,

Sorry for not reply before.
The parameter "auth-user-pass" is supported in T2x series. Can you send us your .tar file for a check? You can mask private message before sending it.

Regards,
James

RE: T28P and the auth-user-pass mistery
Hi, Can you send the openvpn.tar file to James@yealink.com. Will check it firstly. You can mask private information there.

Regards,
James

RE: T28P and the auth-user-pass mistery
Hi, all solved.

a good rule for a good world is to give help, not only get and use it.
So i leave details about how i solved.

I found an error in the login user / pass data. After a reboot, device is connected to VPN.
For who need help on similar issue, mainly, try this
1 - set up the vpn i.e. on linux pc, to se it works
2 - set up vpn.cnf as from the PC working one, mine is:

dev tap
remote xxxx.xxxxxx.com
dh /config/openvpn/keys/dh1024.pem
ca /config/openvpn/keys/ca.crt
port 1194
mode p2p
tls-client
route xx.xx.xx.0 255.255.255.0 192.168.0.1
pull
proto udp
comp-lzo
keepalive 10 60
persist-tun
persist-key
verb 3

script-security 2 execve
auth-user-pass /config/openvpn/keys/auth-data

(note, x are for data i cannot share).

and respect the file structure shown from yealink docs. For auth user/pass
additional auth-data file must be stored in keys

3 - create the openvpn.tar, and enjoy.

NOTE: if vpn is not connected, check log files in web ui, you will find
important openvpn logs there (see SETTINGS -> CONFIGURATION and EXPORT logs).

NOTE: each time you update openvpn.tar from the web ui, do:
1 - disable vpn, apply (reboot)
2 - upload new openvpn.tar, enable, apply (reboot)

Thanks for the support.

Reagrds,
Angelo
