t46g auto attendant

I've got a couple t46g phones that I'm testing and I'm running into an odd problem: when i dial a number that uses an auto attendant to answer i hear nothing and the phone will disconnect after about 5 seconds. If it's an auto-attendant I'm familiar with i can send the dtmf quickly and prolong the call while i get to the next level of the auto attendant but i will still hear no audio.

any ideas, anyone?
