T42G and T48G handset audio problems

Hi,

Got 3 x 48G phones about a month and they came with 35.73.0.50 firmware. They had the muffed tunnel like audio on the handset out of the box.
Also got 5 x 22P and 3 x 32G, handset audio is great on those.

Couple days ago upgraded to Firmware Version 35.80.0.20, got it from our distributor, was not on the website yet.
It does seem to make a little difference in sound quality after the firmware upgrade, but the original issue still exists.

Does the 48G need a factory reset after firmware upgrade to apply all the changes?

Can anyone confirm that this audio problem was fixed on any other T4x phones?

Unless there is a resolution for this problem I am sending these phones back.

Can someone from Yealink answer @btcarter's question please? What are the *.193.* versions? Is the 29.73.193.50.zip for the T42 a beta/pre-release of the 80 release? When can we expect the 80 release for the T42 series?

I have 120 T42's we just put in and the sound quality is an issue where people say it sounds like people are far away or at the bottom of a hole...

for the .193, it is a customized firmware that is used only for special customer , for other people , you can use commercial firmware , and it is x.73.0.50 now as released and you can download at

just click according to the corresponding model, and do a factory rest after upgrade

Any ideas when .80 will be available to the public for the T42? This month? Next Quarter?

I use T42, T46, and T48 phones and the 80.0.70 firmware seems to have fixed our audio quality. All the users that are upgraded have said it sounds a lot better.

My users (about 200) all still report the same issues after the upgrade. The 80.0.70 firmware made no difference in the sound quality for the user.

Please advice. If the handset port would have the same quality of the headset port... I would consider it fixed.

Hi same problem here t42g , t46g and t27p all appear to be based on the same hardware , t28 was their best phone but they no longer sell it , the sound is bad no matter what we do with coded,echo,gain settings , its sound muffled and people complain alot

Yealink Support, can we please fix this already? You know the fix -- you already put it in the "beta" firmware for T46G once. Why won't you put it in the all the "official" firmwares?
