Yealink Attended Transfer vs. Asterisk Attended Transfer
Can someone explain to me what the difference between Yealink's Attended Transfer and Asterisk's Attended Transfer?

We've spent a long time getting a beep to happen when an In-Call Asterisk Attended Transfer is finished so the person receiving the call knows when the transfer has taken place. Unfortunately this beep only happens when the In-Call Asterisk Attended Transfer *2 keys are used. If we use any of the DSS Keys on our T42G or T48G to do a Attended Transfer we don't get this beep. Why are these different? Can I make the DSS keys use the *2 behavior. Or is there another way I can get the beep to happen at the phone level?

Thanks,
Barry

Hi bazzacad,

You can configure DSSKEY as speed dial then fill *2 , labeled as Attended Transfer.

Thanks for the suggestions. I think that will work for when we enter the extension numbers, but I forgot to mention that we'd like to use BLF DSS keys. So how do we have a BLF key that will do a *2 transfer to a specific extension?

Thx,
Barry

I'm not sure I understand, how do I do a trace on a feature that doesn't exist?
Do you want me to make a DSS key of type BLF with a value of *2123 (where 123 is the extension I want to transfer to)?

Hi bazzacad,

You can try to reproduce your issue by pressing *2 and export three files.
Then reproduce your issue by pressing DSSkey and export three files.

RE: Yealink Attended Transfer vs. Asterisk Attended Transfer
I think Yealink's transfer is based more on pure SIP protocol: basically A Invite B+ B Hold A + B Invite C + B Refer/Notify A + A Invite C
When you dial *2 (or ## for blind transfers) Asterisk (FreePBX) steps in and plays audio file asking for transfer destination and then, after call goes through, it plays the beep file to the receiving party of transfer announcing successful transfer.

There's a feature request to let Yealink phones beep on transfer. I think it can be done.
