newest firmware for T4XS units causes bootup loop
Be wary of the latest firmware 66.86.0.160 for the T4XS family (verified on T46S and T48S)

It causes a boot loop when connected to the Internet.
Boot loop as displayed on phones screen:

Welcome Initializing…Please wait
Regular screen for 3 seconds
Redirector
Config Updating
Update Skipped
Welcome (assuming a reboot happened)
Regular screen for 5-10 seconds (all the above seems normal)
Reboot (oops, back to top)

The fix is to set static IPs (no Internet access) and revert back to 66.86.0.15, no boot loop without Internet access.

I did try turning off auto provisioning, no change. Couldn't find anything else to try.

The 2 devices are part of a customers network, so I cannot really do much to test, I may have to buy an S model for my lab.

It’s also interesting the variance of firmware versions available on the Yealink site, and what 3CX has approved. Some 3CX phones have a higher firmware revision than what’s available from the Yealink site. 3CX likes 66.86.0.5 for the S model phones.

I feel your pain, we just had 100+ endpoints update to .160 after it fixed a separate issue for one endpoint. Now all are stuck in a boot loop and cant even set statics since they are running on PoE so I cant kill their internet connection without bringing down multiple networks. Wish someone from Yealink would reply to you with a fix Sad

Hi,

Please try this:
Immediately after the firmware upgrade, reset the phone to the system default.
Then reconnect to the network, re-provision and try again.

Kind regards,
Frank.

It's in a boot loop, so unfortunately the phone is never in a state where you can perform a factory reset

Hi,

Make sure the phone is somehow disconnected from the internet, then try the reset.

Kind regards,
Frank.

RE: newest firmware for T4XS units causes bootup loop
Ah thank you, i was able to turn off internet access and factory reset the phone. Unfortunately as soon as I re-enable the internet access, it returns to the reboot loop.

I can put a firmware URL With the old firmware in it but that just makes it freeze up on "Firmware Update..." screen Sad

Hi, It's a known issue on the firmware 66.86.0.160. There is new firmware 66.86.0.82 that can fix this issue. I uploaded it to the Google Drive link, please kindly try to download and upgrade it to see if it can be addressed.
