How do I request a SIP licence (to "downgrade" from SFB firmware)?
Hi.

I have a T41S which is currently running an SFB (Skype for business) firmware v66.9.0.80, and I would like to downgrade to a standard SIP firmware (I believe the downgrade to a standard SIP firmware is necessary to be able to configure the phone with "standard" SIP providers).

I have already tried to flash the new firmware using the Settings/Upgrade page but despite there showing no errors, the firmware version remains unchanged.

I have now read in several forum posts that I should upload a SIP licence to the phone before attempting to flash the standard firmware. Could anyone please confirm whether my understanding is correct and, if yes, how do I request this SIP licence?

Many thanks, Jaime

Hi Jaime,

The best thing you can do is submit a ticket at the Yealink helpdesk and ask for assistance.

Hi @complex1. Thank you for the pointer. After more searching the yealink knowledge base, I stumbled over this and this - I'll "plough on" and update this post with any progress. Thanks again.

Wink RE: How do I request a SIP licence (to "downgrade" from SFB firmware)?
Success! I went from:
https://support.yealink.com/en/portal/kn...7c65f78ed5
to:
https://support.yealink.com/faq/faqInfo?id=942
which redirects to:
https://support.yealink.com/en/portal/kn...0471180dd1
and I then followed the instructions on the second half of the page ("Resolution For SFB User"):
I created a new licence on https://license.yealink.com which I downloaded to my PC, I installed that licence on the T41S, rebooted the phone, and I was then able to successfully upgrade (/downgrade?) to the "standard" "SIP Edition" firmware. I did not need to create a ticket at https://ticket.yealink.com/.

Yay!
