According to this link, seems like other users have had issues with this setup before, but the thread is old and the firmware is very old as well:

I have a Yealink T46S tlf, factory reset, updated to newest fw(66.86.0.15). Its connected with a EHS36 with firmware(5.16.0.0).
Sennheiser headset is updated to newest firmware, and headset is working flawlessly when connected to my computer.
EHS36 is dectected proberly by the phone and its visible on the phone's status page. I tried another headset with the same EHS36, and it worked flawlessly, so the EHS36 is not broken.
Wireless headset work is configured in DHSG mode.
But whatever I try I cant hear the dialtone in the headset, seems like EHS36 is not detecting off-hook when pushing the Headset button on the phone. The phone is working perfectly with the regular handset.
Tried this here as well, but without any luck:

Any bright minds with ideas for what i can try next?
