EXP40 LEDs - killerbyte - 10-02-2015 08:52 PM

I have setup an EXP40 for our receptionist with all the extensions added as BLF entries.

But none of the LEDs light up so the lady can't see if people are available to take a call or not.

What did I do wrong in the setup?

We need to know two things.

1) What PBX software do you use?
2) Do the BLF lamps on the phone itself work as intended?

In the meantime try the following...

Insure that the firmware for your devices are the most up to date available.

Check that the EXP40 is connected to the phone properly. Generally if its getting power and the screen is lighting up and readable, this means it is correctly connected.

In the devices screen settings, make sure each entry is set up as a "BLF" and that just the phones extension number is entered, nothing else.

In the phones configuration screen, navigate to FEATURES tab and then CALL PICKUP in the menu. In the field "Directed call pickup code" make sure the correct code is in there to pick up remote extensions (On most Asterisk based systems this code is **).
