HD indicator bug? - Stewart - 08-01-2013 02:52 PM

I have some new T26Ps connected to an Asterisk server. The first two codecs are G722 and PCMU. On an outbound call to the PSTN, Asterisk initially accepts G722, transcoding to G.711 on the trunk side. The HD indicator comes on, as expected. However, when the call is answered, Asterisk re-invites the audio, so it flows directly between the phone and the VoIP provider. The phone is now sending and receiving G.711u packets. The HD indicator should turn off, but it usually doesn't. On a few percent of calls, it does turn off, but I can't see anything different about those cases. (In either case, there is no problem with the audio or signaling.)

This is more than just a cosmetic issue for me; I'd like the indicator being off to show that a PSTN call has properly re-invited, and being on to show that a call to an HD service (Turbobridge, FreeConferenceCallHD, etc.) has properly negotiated G.722.

Has anyone else experienced this?

Thanks,

Stewart

Hi Stewart,
1. Do you mean your T26P set G722 as the first codec, then when make a PSTN call, the codec negotiated is G.711u, but the phone LCD is still display HD indicator? And this issue happened some times, but not every time?
2. And you need to according to this HD indicator to know whether it's a PSTN call or an internal call?
Sorry any misunderstanding please let us know.
BTW, what's the firmware of your T26? Could you try with our latest V71 beta firmware and check again?
