I have a t42g with
Version
Firmware Version 29.80.0.70
Hardware Version 29.0.0.0.0.0.0
The phone connects over a vpn.
Once the vpn is established I'm trying to provision the phone using the 'provision now' button.
The key error seems to be:
Connect Failed! ret 0, errno 115 timeout 5 error -1
Error 115 is 'operation in progress' so it sounds like a bug in the provisioning logic.
Note: we have t26/t28 phones which provision against this server without a problem, however I'm not certain we have any which are being provisioned over a vpn.
I've checked the server logs and the phone does not make any connection attempt against the provisioning server.

for this issue, please reset the phone and test again , if the issue still exist , please kindly provide the trace file we needed for future analysis
trace file including pcap file, config bin and syslog file , and we need three of them provide at one time.
