Issue with headsets, calls are spontaneously ended - sanderv85 - 06-14-2023 05:26 PM
Hello,
Some of my customers are having strange problems.
It seems that sometimes the phone/headset is automatically connecting.
This results in call that are abruptly ended of answered.
Also when nobody is touching the phone or headset it does this.
It happens with different combinations Yealink phones or headset brand.
For instance Yealink T46U/Plantronics W8220T/EHS40 or Yealink T46S/Jabra 920/EHS36.
I have tried updating the phones/headsets/ehs, replaced switches/routers etc.
Do other people experience the same strange problems and maybe have a solution?
Thanks in advance.
Kind regards Sander

Hi Sander,
Don't know a solution, but I like to suggest checking the power supply of the phone.
E.g., if you use PoE to power the phone(s), then try a standalone power supply instead.

Hello Frank,
Thanks for taking the time to reply.
I suspect it has something to do with power.
We do use poe switches to power the phones.
With one customer I tried using power adapters. I connected the power adapters of the phones and headsets to a new and separate power supply with surge protection. It helped a little bit, but did not completely solve the problem.
Any more ideas I can try?

Hi Sander,
What if... you just use the phone without the EHS/headset combination?
Is the issue solved then?
