Upgraded firmware, bad news - ctsmetrony - 09-26-2022 10:41 PM

In trying to register my W52P with a 3CX pbx, the 3CX instructions had me upgrade firmwares for the base and handsets. For the base, I downloaded and installed 1529371429716.81.0.30.rom and then W56H-61.85.0.35.rom for the handsets. It's been a mess ever since. At one hopeful point, the base was pingable and the first handset I tried seemed to register but it went into some interminable "Initializing" message. The other handset could not find the base. I have not been able to reach the base's web page and, after another base hard reset, it is not pinging.

I would appreciate steps that might salvage this equipment.

Thanks

Hi,

Please downgrade the W56H firmware to 61.83.0.50 because this version is fully compatible with v81 version of the base.

Please note:
After a firmware upgrade/downgrade, base or handset, a reset to factory default is required.

I think I'm stuck. Every time I register the handset in an effort downgrade its firmware, everything freezes. I get "Data initializing..." on the handset and the base's web interface freezes. Eventually, the base is unpingable.

Hi,

Have you reset the base?

Please reset to factory default using following steps:
1. Disconnect power supply from base, but leave network cable connected
2. Long press Paging button on base, connect power supply, wait until all lights are on
3. Disconnect power, release Paging button, and reconnect power again

When base station reset finishes, the power indicator LED, network status LED and registration LED illuminate in sequence. System PIN and all individual settings are reset to factory defaults. Handset registrations will also be cleared after base station reset.

I've reset the base many times. The lockup happens after reset and when registering the handsets that have the new (wrong) firmware.

I think I have good handsets and a good base that will never work together again. Is there another base (the W70B perhaps) is compatible with handsets loaded with that 61.85.0.35 firmware?

Thanks
