incorrect pin during registration of a second handset - barny - 07-09-2020 07:03 PM

Hi,
we have 6 Yealink W60B, for two of them I bought a second handset. When I try to register the handsets I get "incorrect pin". I took the same pin witch I used for connecting to the base. Is that not the right one, or is there another problem?

Regards
Bernd

Hi Bernd,

Are the two handset you bought new out of the box of used ones?
Please check if the area (Status > Handset > Area) of all handsets are the same.
e.g. Area: Europe or Area: North America.

Hi Bernd,

For me to be 100% sure... ALL handsets have the same code?
Thus the new ones and the ones you already have?

Hi,

The default Base PIN is 0000
I assume you didn't change it.
Change the PIN to another code, e.g. 1234 and try again to register the handset with the new PIN.

Hi,

yes I used the default PIN's, I changed the PIN's to 1234. After that I had the same error, wrong PIN.

Is it possible to register a handset whom already registered to a their base, to register to a base that denied the registration of the just bought handsets and without this wrong PIN error?
Please try.

I took a handset from another base, where it works. Try to register it on the base with wrong pin. I got the same answer "wrong pin". Shortly before I connected the base with the changed pin 1234.

Last thing you can do before submit a support ticket @ Yealink is to reset the base to factory default and try to register both or more handsets to the base.
Perhaps the base allowed only one handset to register?????
