After an incomplete upgrade, I could not let the CP960 boot, and now that I am trying to use recovery mode, I tried the method for the attached image, but if I ask, it does work not; What does the firmware update for "USB flash disk" mean? ? Is it possible? What should I do, I would appreciate it. I was listening to someone say English essay help in this method, so what's your opinion.

Finally Good News!

Yealink reply to me previous ticket and sent me link contain Recovery mode process on CP960 (plus other model, seems updated version!) the most important they sent me new files CP960.bin and CP960.rfs which were the main reason for the recovery mode to work this time!

it's working now .

the process :

1- prepear formated usb flash (FAT32)
2-copy the needed files (CP960.bin and CP960.rfs and the CP960.rom) (I have used what yealink tech. sent me) to the flash drive.
3-plug the USB flash drive next to the micro usb
4-switch on the CP960
5-press Home (the circle) when you see "initializing" keep press until you see another screen which will do the recovery automatically ! cant be easier than this .

Thats it .

BIG THANKS TO MongoTEL_Support , and Thank you Yealink Technical Support team.

you saved us!

RE: CP960 Not Booting - Mclemmons - 04-28-2020 05:09 PM

I have the same issue. I spoke with Yealink tech support via Teams conference call. When I tap the home button, or hold it down, no matter what I do it does not see the USB drive and just hangs on that pic of a phone and a circle spinning.

He also tried to have me hold the 2 mute buttons down on power up for a factory reset...that didn't work either. This is a new phone....so it's very dissapointing that we can't bypass any startup to either reset, or update the firmware (which by the way is the reason we are in this mess in the first place). We updated the firmware last week and the phone won't boot up after the fact.

If there are any other tricks I can try...I am open to any suggestions.

Thanks

Power cycle the phone and as soon you see the first initializing... press and hold the circle button until the screen turns blue.
There is a very short time frame. If you are not fast enough, try again.

As PSS1819 said, be quick and keep press until it detect the usb flash and recovery mode will start automatically!

Steps :

1- prepare formatted usb flash (FAT32)
2-copy the needed files (CP960.bin and CP960.rfs and the CP960.rom) (I have used what yealink tech. sent me) to the flash drive.
3-plug the USB flash drive next to the micro usb
4-switch on the CP960
5-press Home (the circle) when you see "initializing" keep press until you see another screen which will do the recovery automatically !.

Good luck.

NezarH,

Care to share these new cp960 rfs and bin files? I am having the same issue?

RE: CP960 Not Booting - matthewmilesuk - 04-29-2022 09:56 PM

I'm in a similar position. The default admin credentials don't work for a brand new CP960... hoping to upgrade the firmware to another version to see if this will make a difference.

I've tried the .ib and .rfs files attached to a previous reply in this thread, with a variety of .rom files from the support pages for the CP960 but none of them have worked so far.

Does anyone have a working set of recovery files I can try please?

Thanks

Matt

Thank you for the above message, had same similar issue, I was android version of which I NEEDED TO upgrade the android version to a higher, eventually I mistakenly upgraded to MS Team.

I followed up the above process with download ROM file ( CP960-73.86.0.20 and CP960-73.80.0.25) still showing to import MS team license but in French format.
How do I go about this
