Multicast Paging Issues - voicearray - 08-18-2015 07:00 AM
Hi. I have read and searched this entire forum and online for a solution but I cannot find one.
I have one W52P Base with three handsets, this is one week old. Each handset is assigned its own extension. We are using Elastix 2.4 with Asterisk 1.8.11.0.
Paging/intercom has been enabled in our PBX server. In addition to W52P there are 8 Yealink T28P phones.
The W52P is on the latest base firmware 25.73.0.40.zip and handsets on 26.73.0.11.zip. We are having the following problems with W52p:
1. When using the Multicast paging from T28Ps or from W52Ps the page is answered automatically and we can hear from the speakers of each handsets the page. But sometimes randomly one or more of the handsets instead of accepting the multicast page an auto answering via speaker instead the handset will ring for two rings and then disconnects. This happens randomly out of the 3 W52P handsets one or two will not auto answer. But if we try again immediately it auto answers the multicast page.
2. The second issue is the paging auto answer delay. All the T28P when paged will pick up the page and make the beep tone, the W52p takes and extra 2-3 seconds before the page comes through and is auto answered on the W52P handsets.

I just saw that it is for handsets. I will update the firmware shortly and share the results.

The handsets were upgraded to firmware 26.73.0.12.rom last Friday. We are still experiencing periodic the same issues. Whether the multicast paging is answered on the W52p by 2 handsets but on one it may be ringing like an incoming call and is not auto answered and sent to speaker as a page should. Sometimes it is more than one handset that will give this issue.
