T54W with Plantronics Savi720 via USB - guyst77 - 04-11-2019 08:04 AM

Hello Yealink Team,

I'va a problem with the new T5x Series and the EHS function with wireless headsets(testing with Plantronics Savi720 and Jabra Pro930 via USB).

There is no ringing in the headset at an incomming call and I can't accept the call directly on the headset.

The datasheet specifies the operation of wired and wireless headsets. But there is no information about the EHS-function.

Does it supported via USB or not?

Testing with T54W(FW. 96.84.0.20 and 96.84.0.30).

Best regards
Guy

guyst77,

Depending on whether you use a PC or MAC, you will need to install the Plantronics Hub Software.
Below are the links and instructions.
From within the phones WebUI, go to Features > Audio > Ringer Device for Headset >> set to "Use Speaker & Headset" < this is the setting from the phone that will send the ringing alert tone through to the headset.

The reason for the hub software is so that you can set the default pickup/answering device.
While I designed this configuration for use with the Savi 8210/8220, it should should work for all other wireless headsets that have a USB connection option.
Settings for Plantronics Hub PC
1. Download and install the software from this link: https://www.poly.com/us/en/support/downloads-apps/hub-desktop
-Scroll down and click on the download option for "WINDOWS"
2. Connect a USB cable from the Plantronics base, to your PC.
3. Install the software. It may ask after the installation is complete, whether you would like it launch.
-If no prompt to launch, locate the icon on your desktop and double click on it or press the "WINDOWS"
key on your keyboard and begin typing "Plantronics", when you see the icon for the app, double click on it.
4. If a notification appears at the top for any updates to the base or headset, allow them to update before proceeding.
5. Click on the Settings menu at the top of the window and then select General.
-Scroll down util you see the option "Default Phone Line"
-Change the value to "PC"
-Scroll back up and click "Apply"
6. Disconnect the USB cable from your PC and connect it to your Deskphone.
7. Contact your $yourcompany and request to have the setting pushed to your phone so that
calls will ring on both your deskphone and your headset.
Note: This configuration should only be considered if Windows based softphone clients will not be utilized.

Yes, the T5 series devices with USB ports do support USB headsets.

Here are the instructions from a knowledge base article that I wrote for the company I work for.
They are for the Plantronics Savi 8220/8210, but they will work just fine for the Savi 720.
For Jabra, you will need the Jabra Direct software

https://jabraxpressonlineprdstor.blob.core.windows.net/jdo/JabraDirectSetup.exe
https://jabraxpressonlineprdstor.blob.core.windows.net/jdo/JabraDirectSetup.dmg

1. Open the Jabra Direct software after installing
2. Click on the Device icon and then click on the device, if more than one, choose the appropriate device.
3. Click on the yellow settings button.
4. Click on USB Desk Phone and enable the following settings, then click save.
-USB desk phone connection.
-Ringtone in headset.

If you followed the steps for the phone and the headset software, you should be able to hear calls ringing
in the headset and be able to control the phone with the applicable controls on the headset.
