T46G WiFi cannot access web gui - SimpleCom - 02-01-2019 12:20 AM

Hi all,

I have a T46G running 28.83.0.53 firmware and the WF40 dongle. I cannot access the web gui to administer this phone. I press OK to display the IP address and I get the site can't be reached. Here's where it get's fun. a scanner doesn't show this phone on the network, yet it connects just fine to my asterisk. Now, when I connect it via a wire, it shows right up, and I can configure it as I wish. It has a different IP address, which I expected. Anyone got an idea?

What does your network topology look like? Are the wireless devices on the same subnet/network as the wired ones? Any firewall between them, guest network, etc?

I've only got a WF50 here but the web GUI of the phone is definitely available over that interface when I have it connected, so in theory you should be able to do what you are trying.

I'm picking my network apart now. I'm trying to disable every guest network and everything else. Once I get to the lowest level, I'll start rebuilding things. Way too many options on this new router, and some seems to configure themselves. You know...to enhance the experience.

Okay. I got rid of the stock firmware on my router and flashed it to something (hopefully) more stable. Only one wireless network, no guests or anything. The phone comes up just fine on DHCP via Wifi. Calls work, display works. Cool. Still can't get to the web gui via the wifi dongle. The phone's address shows up in the dhcp clients table. I'm at a loss here. I tried giving it a static address. No joy. Something strange here. I wonder if it's something to do with the .53 firmware I put on the phone. That release allows better control over the power LED. I have clients that want their phones to go 100% dark at night, and Yealink sent me this firmware. They say it's tested and stable. I'll try going back to .50 and see what happens. It's the only thing I can think of.

Anyone else got any thoughts on this?

Can you ping the IP address assigned to the phone from the PC/computer you are trying to use to log into it with? Have you verified that your PC/computer is on the same subnet/network range as the phone's IP?

All very basic things but you need to cross them off your list in order to move forward and find the source of the issue.

Rebuilt my network from scratch. All is well.
