Factory Reset via Provision - Andrews1 - 01-09-2019 10:55 PM

Hi Team,

We sometimes come across situations where we want to factory reset a phone (i.e. re-provision for another user, force wipe if a unit has been resold etc). In some cases we can get and end user to perform the factory reset process, but in other cases we don't want to give out the phone user/pass or in the case its been resold, we don't know who the user is.

Is it possible to trigger a factory reset on a phone via provision using a SIP NOTIFY / event-string message like we can do with Auto Provision?

Go to Menu > Advanced > Reset & Reboot.
Select Reset to Factory.
Under Reset Option press Full Reset.
Click OK. The phone should now reset to factory default settings.
Go to Menu > Advanced once the phone resets.
Password: admin
Select Auto Provision. Enter the provisioning server address.
Press Save and click OK to confirm.
The phone will auto-restart after 20 seconds, or you can restart the phone manually at any time.
If the phone was previously Activated, it should come online. If not, move on to the next step and activate the phone.

Hello,

Something easier to follow, but not from auto-provision.
I'm not sure if it's all phone models, but I guess it is a majority.

Ask the user to press the "OK" button for about 10 seconds while the phone is on standby (default screen, not in any menu or on a call).
Phone will ask confirmation to make the factory default, simply press "Yes".

That's it.
