T41S Custom logo only displays temporarily - cwacker - 09-28-2018 03:58 PM I have a fleet of T41S phones that I would love to deploy a screensaver style logo to (Company logo) on the phones. I was able to get the custom logo file generated and uploaded to the test phone, but the logo only displays for a couple seconds and it reverts back to the default screen. What settings do I need to change so that the screensaver stays up until a call comes in or the phone is used? (or even so that the screensaver stays up longer than 3 seconds before it goes back to the main screen?) Hi, Please go to Settings > Preference and setup settings accordingly the screenshot in attachment. This should do the trick. I have attached my settings page. I am currently running a T41S phone with firmware: Firmware Version 66.82.0.20 Hardware Version 68.0.0.0.0.0.0 Any other ideas? Is there a different firmware that will work better? The T41S IP phone only displays custom information as the screen saver. Currently it shows the Logo for 3 seconds, and then the Idle screen for 10 seconds. This is rather annoying and seemingly backwards of what I would expect, but I cannot find any documentation on how to change the time limits on either of those displays. Is this possible? Or is there a way to suggest feedback to yealink to add these as configurable? I updated to 66.84.0.10 and it hasn't added any additional options for this configuration. Sorry. You can make a wish request and send it to Yealink Support, I think. Keep in mind that Yealink Office is closed from 1st Oct to 7th Oct to for National Day Holiday. RE: T41S Custom logo only displays temporarily - jolouis - 10-05-2018 08:10 PM Honestly it is not worth fighting for. If you really want customized logo/display then use a higher level phone than the T41. The reason Yealink switches between the logo and the idle screen is that the LCD is not capable of display the graphic and the fixed/idle information at the same time... they are rendered by two completely separate processes and just don't play well together. We went down this road many years ago back with the T28s and T26/T22s. The 28s worked great as the logo would always show in the blank area of the display, but on the lower phones they would just continually flip back and forth between the logo and the actual interface. At the time Yealink explained that was by design and quite frankly we had a hard time trying to argue differently. It's nice branding to be able to customize the phone's appearance, but on sets with such small basic screens it's just not worth fighting over and these days with so many more models and features to focus on I doubt you will ever convince a Yealink dev to spend time on it for you. If customized display is your primary concern the T29 is a reasonable compromise between the T46 and the more basic T41/T42. Styling is a little plainer but the screen is the same one used in the 46 and price point is about 30% more than T41 compared to 80% for T46. T52S may also be worth looking at. We were hoping we could just use the branding when the display goes into power saving mode (or a similar idea where the display is completely disabled and shows the logo until it's prompted with a status change of any sort) We're fine without the logo since I haven't actually told anyone but my manager that it is a possibility. I was pretty careful to make sure I didn't say anything when marketing was in the room otherwise they'd be expecting miracles. Fortunately, at this point, this is the only thing we could classify as an issue on the phones. Everything else is rock solid, and since these phones are going to be in areas where damage is likely, we're going to err on the side of ***** and functional instead of "can have branding". Thank you for the notes. I really appreciate it. No worries. We have been deploying Yealink phones for almost 10 years now and found that they are consistently the best high quality but affordable products in the market. The support from them is also extremely good as long as you follow the proper channels (i.e. buy through an authorized distributor in your region). |
