Hello - I checked the user guide - page 3 "Icon Instructions"... and the rest of the pages ;-)
The icon appears below the time / date on the screen saver... it looks a little like an upside down light bulb?
Any ideas appreciated!!

Ok - solving my own questions here...
The icon (missing from the User Manual) indicates that the user has plugged in a USB device like a memory stick.
