Blank screen and flashing indicator - GIWM - 12-18-2017 08:14 PM

After upgrading my T46G/S units to X.82.0.20, we've noticed that if they have no activity for a number of hours (like every Monday morning) that the screen is black and the indicator light is flashing. The phone will work just fine and can be 'woken' by interacting with the phone. We use the following settings universally that may apply, but these haven't changed since the X.81.X.X firmware:

features.power_saving.enable = 0
screensaver.wait_time = 30
screensaver.display_clock.enable = 1
screensaver.mode = 0
phone_setting.backlight_time = 30
phone_setting.inactive_backlight_level = 1

It acts like it may be ignoring the Power Saving setting and assuming it's enabled.

Thoughts?

I have confirmed that this is a bug in the X.82.0.20 firmware. The setting for features.power_saving.enable is being ignored.

I can replicate this quickly by changing all three Idle timeouts to 1 minute and leaving Power Saving set to Disabled. The phone will go into power saving one minute after hitting confirm.

Dear GIWM,

Yes,as you said, I can reproduce the issue with your steps:
changing all three Idle timeouts to 1 minute and leaving Power Saving set to Disabled. The phone will go into power saving one minute after hitting confirm.

I will forward this problem to our R&D to locate the problem.

Also, the phone will automatucally enter power-saving mode to pretect the screen when the phone is inactive for 72 hours. That is, the color screen phones will
turn off the backlight and screen, and the black-and-white screen phones will only turn off the
backlight. Image persistence may be caused on LCD if power saving is disabled.

For the Monday morning, will it be possible that the phone is inactive for 72 hours, so the phone go to power-saving?

Best Regards,
Lucia

72 hours would be unlikely... it happens to my phone regularly enough and that's closer to 62 hours over a weekend.

I can easily live with the issue as it's very minor. It's just good to know why it's happening and that it may get fixed in a future update.

Thank you!

Thanks for pointing out the link. I didn't think to look there as GIWM was talking about a T46G with different firmware.

I have upgraded to that firmware and it fixes the problem, thanks very much.
