"lost" line keys - cadillackid - 06-14-2015 10:31 AM

I am trying to figure out how to make the most of the line keys on a T42G. I was thinking I could Lock my line 1 and line 2 keys in positions 1 and 2, which i can do... however it renders positions 6,7 and 11,12 completely useless after that...

I was thinking the phone would just go to an extra page of keys if I locked a line key.. yet I actually Lose those positions forever that are the corresponding key on the page 2 and 3..

is this normal? is there a way to have those line keys always stay there and not lose the other positions?

what does 'float' and 'default' do? i cannot see a difference between float and default..

Hi Christopher,
If you select Lock from the Value field, the line keys located in the same position of the other page will be automatically assigned Line feature with Lock filled in the Value field. Then you can use this key on every page. This feature is only applicable to line key 1-9.
If you select Float from the Value field, the phone will automatically switch to the page the line key located, when the line key receives an incoming call.
If you select Default from the Value field, you can only use this key on the current page.
