Auto update .61 -> .72 Will it work? - VK2US - 05-13-2015 02:21 PM

All….

Currently running an number of T22-P using auto configuration. We are currently on .61 and would like to go to .72 however I think we may have an issue with this.

Between the two versions the template, configuration file, changes in format. While I could set the old file to point to a .72 file, which the phone would download the next time it checks its configuration, this new firmware would not read the old configuration file format.

Updating the configuration file first wouldn’t work either as the old firmware would not understand it and would not update.

Any thoughts?

Regards
Pete

Hi Pete,

New firmware is compatible to old parameter.
But some old parameter are not supported and new features can only be set through new template.
We recomend you updating template too.

Indeed, yealink provide such a conversion configuration which will transform V6x template to V7x template.
