a customer asked me if it is possible to use both the handset and speakerphone in both directions, so as to listen to what he says is called, the caller.

No, it's not supported.
Only one of them can speak at a same time.

I sometimes use both handset and speakerphone on T22. You have to first pickup the handset and then enable speakerphone. But I'm not sure whether microphone works on both of them at the same time.
