How to set intercom to answer automatically? - strobesnmore - 04-11-2013 08:30 PM

When using the intercom between phones we want them to auto answer instead of ringing and having to pick up the receiver. We have one phone in our warehouse that is particularly important to set up this way so we can check stock without someone having to run to pick up the phone.

We are using the T28P with firmware 2.61.0.81

Anyone know how to set this up?

Hello,
You can access to phone webpage-Phone-Features
You can see Intercom setting as the attachment, you just need to enable Accept Intercom.

BTW, the firmware 2.61.0.81 you used is an old firmware, please upgrade to our latest firmware 2.70.0.140 from our website:

This firmware fixed some bugs, and some new features based on 2.61.0.81.

My provided states they are able to send an alert-info on internal calls so that the phone will auto answer. in order to do this the phones must:
1 - be configured to NOT auto answer all calls and auto-answer only when TP sends an alert info indicating auto answer. This will be for internal calls, intercom calls and paging group calls.

2 -in order to provide this functionality, it would be ideal to have the phone change its user-agent name to somthing unique. TP can then trigger off of this unique name when the phone registers and automatically manage the phone with the special auto-answer on internal calls feature.

Can you tell me if Number 2 is possible and if so how it can be accomplished?
