Intercom Button Way To Pass Number To It? - tima - 02-13-2015 04:12 AM

Hello,

We would like to configure an Intercom button but not specify a specific extension and allow the customer to type in an extension, is this possible?

Ex: Customer dials 1015 then press Intercom

or

Press Intercom then dial 1015

Right now the Intercom button needs to specific a specific extension which is inconvenient for a company of 40+ people.

Tim

What PBX? 3cx for example uses a starcode for intercom - so making a key PREFIX would probably work with the *9 code.
Again - all depends on your PBX.

We use the Netsapiens platform and I'm investigating if there is any intercom functionality but as far as I know they don't currently support intercom on the PBX.

If there is no intercom function it might not be possible...
You could probably do 1 way paging with multicast however...
