when I make calls to numbers with menu options and i oppress the desired option, the conmutes don't recognize the choices options.

You do not say which telephone you are using, which pbx, if you are using PSTN or VoIP trunk, what Country you are in, etc.
All of this information would be helpful in troubleshooting your issue.
In Account, Advanced in the WebGui there are a few settings for DMTF which may help you fix this.
