T48G using Wifi and Mulitcast paging - joshua@itstel.com - 10-22-2016 01:02 AM

I have a T48G phone that is setup for multicast paging. When I have the phone hard wired the multicast works both ways (initiating and receiving). When I switch it to WiFi the multicast does not receive. I can send out a multicast page however. Trying to determine if there is a phone setting or a WiFi network issue. Any suggestions would help. Thanks

Hello,

Please kindly offer us trace files for further analysis as below:
a. Level 6 syslog
b. PCAP trace
c. Config.bin
You can get the guide from this link to see how to export the issue data:

NOTE: please kindly provide TWO package, one with the hard wired network, another with WiFi.

For this case, please send to support@yealink.com

He is more detailed information after extensive testing in my test lad. T48G phone with 35.80.0.130 firmware using Wifi Adapter.

When the phone powers up and registers, the multicast receiving will work within 135 seconds. After that it stops working. If you receive a multicast page every 100 seconds it will always work - I did this for 12 minutes. It stops working if there is more than 135 seconds between multicast pages. In the web GUI, if I go to Network-->WiFi-->Click on the SSID--->Click Edit, the phone resets the WiFi and will receive multicast for up to 135 seconds again.

This does not happen when I use the LAN port instead of the WiFi adapter for connectivity.

Does anyone use T48G phones with WiFi adapters with multicast paging and it works? I need to find out before I rely on this solution for my customers. I'm trying to determine if it's the T48G, or a setting in my WiFi network.

In this same test lab, I have a t46G phone connected across a WDS WiFi network, and since that continues to receive multicast pages, I have to believe the WiFi network is not shutting down the multicast packets. I must be the T48G phone. Again, does anyone have T48G phones using the WiFi adapter with multicast paging receiving working? (I can always initiate a multicast page from the WiFi enabled T48G, its receiving the multicast that stops working) Thanks
