T42G DHCP Server Status - theofie23 - 06-25-2014 06:20 AM

Hi there,

I am currently having issues with my T42G, it is dropping its registration each night. I have a number of over Yealink phones (T20's & T26's) which are all working perfectly.

When looking at the settings in all the devices I can see that all the correctly functioning phones say that the DHCP Server Status is Running under Network Common heading on the Account tab, however the T42G says Stoped.

Does anyone know what setting I need to change in order to have the DHCP Server Status running.

Any help is much appreciated, let me know if more information is required.

Hi theofie23,

1.What is your phone firmware version?
The T42's latest version is 29.72.0.25. If your phone is not running in the latest version, please upgrade it firstly.
You can download the firmware from here. >>here<<

2.If yes, please reset the phone and try again.

Thank you for your reply.

The phone is running Firmware Version 29.72.0.25.

I have reset the phone to factory and re-registered it however it is still showing the same status for the DHCP Server :

Hi theofie23,

Thanks for your reply.
I have consulted with our R&D this issue. Because the T2x series can be used as a DHCP server, but the T4x series doesn't support it now.
In the T46 and T48 webpage, it has gone. Like below picture.

Currently the webpage of T42 hasn't modified it yet. But it has no effect on the use of the phone.

thanks

Thank you for your reply and clearing up that issue.

I am still having the same issue whereby the registration is dropping each night.

I have tried using Port 50600, 5060 and 5061. I have also tried using both UDP and TLS as the transport mode. I have also reset the phone to factory settings.

Do you have any other suggestions?

Hi theofie23,

Could you provide more information about it?

1. How often does this issue occur? Each night? How about in the daytime?
2. Whether you set up the PBX server in your own computer or not? It is very important for us.
3. Where and who did you buy the phone from?

thanks in advance

Thanks for that, the answers are below
1. It happens each night, according to the logs at roughly the same time. It could be due to heavy traffic on our network due to transfers of files between our servers, however the other 3 Yealink phones do not drop their registration.

2. Im not quite sure I understand correctly, but I have not setup a PBX server for this phone. If you can clarify I may be able to answer this better.

3. I brought this phone in New Zealand from SnapperNet

Let me know if you need further information.

Hi theofie23,

In order to do more troubleshootings, could you please send me the config file of the all phones(including the bad one and three work fine phones) and the all phone's ip address(press the OK button on the keyboard)?
About how to export the config file, please refer to below picture.
