Intercom mute auto un-mute when receiver picked up - tsukraw - 06-06-2014 10:32 AM
Title says it all.
Have a customer who wants intercom function setup. They want intercom to be muted initially which we can accomplish.
The question they came up with is can we get it so that when they pick up the receiver the intercom/call automatically goes from mute to unmuted.
I didn't see a option for this. Does anyone have any ideas if there is a way?
Phones are T42/T46/T48 running the newest firmware for each flavor.

It is a strange scenario of your request. Why your customer want to achieve this feature?
We don't have this function now.

I don't think this is strange. My company would use it. It's a combo of wanting to use intercom but not wanting the caller to hear conversation or music at the called phone end, but yet have the convenience of picking up the call and speaking immediately, but without the rest of your meeting hearing the conversation.
In a word, efficiency.
When we moved to Yealink phones from our old key system, we gave up a couple other neat intercom features that Yealink has yet to match. Missing these intercom features are a couple of the biggest irks we have with our new 3CX/Yealink system. Specifically, combining BLF and intercom on the same button, and the intercom notify tone.

engine411 - What model phone do you have? If it is a T46g we have a custom firmware that allows you to do a PREFIX key + BLF.
So what we did was made a Prefix labeled "Intercom" the users press Intercom then the BLF of the person they want to connect with.
If you have T46 and would like this firmware shoot me a PM with your email and ill shoot you it over. I know this feature will be coming in the new yealink firmware release in July/Aug.
