Play Hold Tone Not working T46G - nickpl - 05-22-2014 03:40 AM

I am trying to get my T46G phones to play a short beep every 60 seconds when a call is on hold to remind the person that they have placed someone on hold. I have added these lines to my config file:
Code:
features.play_hold_tone.enable = 1
features.play_hold_tone.delay = 60
However the phones make no tone at all. What am I missing?

Can you confirm the settings have updated in the WebGui?
Features -> General

Just logged into the WebGui and I can confirm that the hold tone was listed as enabled there and the delay is set to 60

I found that I also needed to add the line:
Code:
voice.tone.country = United States
Before it was set at the default, which is custom. Now the hold tone works correctly

As a side note to this, I noticed that when Stutter Tone and Message Tone are both set to 0 (used to disabled the audio voicemail indicator that beeps when you have a message waiting) it will suppress the hold reminder tone. Is there a better way to configure this or accomplish suppressing the voicemail reminder while still hearing the hold beep?

sorry - just assumed you had the country set...

as far as voicemail tone - can you set it to not subscribe to MWI?
maybe you need phone to display messages still - just not audible?

That's correct, I need a visible notification of voicemail, without the audible notification.

Hi dbrandphoto,

You can go to webpage->Featues->General Information, then disable Voice Mail Tone.
I use 28.72.0.25 in T46G.

Excellent, I tested that in the web interface and it works perfectly however I'm doing some testing trying to auto provision this, and I'm running into some issues.

BTW sorry nickpl, didn't meant to hijack your thread :-).

I'm adding features.voice_mail_tone_enable = 0 to disable the tone however upon downloading the cfg to the phone, the setting isn't changing. I'm going to test this on another firmware version as I'm currently testing on 28.72.0.2 however is this even the correct line to disable that tone via the cfg file?

Hi dbrandphoto,

I think below syntax is correct.
Code:
#!version:1.0.0.1
features.voice_mail_tone_enable = 0

Ill try it out on a different firmware and see if that helps. I'll post my test results when finished.
