T42G - Handset Mic Volume Too Low. - lightbulb - 04-09-2014 11:32 PM

Hi All,

We deployed a couple of T42G's but the people on the other end of our conversations can barely hear us although we can hear them perfectly fine. I saw there are a couple of threads indicated some solutions such as:

voice.handset_send = 35 #

but in the latest Common.cfg I noticed that this is only for the T28P/T26P/T22P/T20P Models. The other volume options are also not well documented and nowhere is there options in the WebGui for this to experiment with.

This is causing major frustration.

other options in Common.cfg

## Volume ##
voice.handfree.spk_vol =
voice.handfree.tone_vol =
voice.handset.spk_vol =
voice.handset.tone_vol =
voice.headset.spk_vol =
voice.headset.tone_vol =
voice.ring_vol=
voice.group_spk_vol =

Could someone please shed some light on this.

Regards

Do you check to speak directly to the MIC ? Does the voice sound clearly or louder?

Speaking directly to the MIC does not solve the problem. Yealink Support has provided this 'help' or 'solution' on other volume issues and this is not a proper solution. There is definitly something wrong with how the firmware is configured or setup by default and nowhere is options to adjust these settings. I tried adjusting all the available settings but none of them made any improvement. People on the other end of the conversations can barely hear us when making a SIP call. I am using the phones with a Yeastar MyPBX and even tried increasing the volume to 250% over the PSTN line without any improvement.

Sorry. Do you reset to factory and test again? These syntaxs just are suitabled for some versions.
Do you all T42G have the same problem?
How about speak with speaker or headset? Do they have the lower sending volume?
Our product department will evaluate those settings.

If you are urgent, please ask your distributor for help and they can submit your request to the corresponding Yealink technical specialist.

Was there a resolution to this issue? I am having the same issue with T42G phones when using Sennheiser SC260 and Sennheiser 5362 - CSTD 01 Cables

Hi,

a lot of people here are experiencing the situation, that they are barely understood and they have to shout sometimes using the T46G.

Now I tried the
voice.handfree_send =
voice.handset_send =
voice.headset_send =

settings and thex don't seem to have any effect. Should they? I set it to 1 and than to 53 and I could spot no difference.

I really need to make some adjustments on handset.send volume for my T46G.

Is it supposed to work this way?
Any ideas?

Anyway I can check the phone if it got the new settings? Export the config or something?

best regards Frank

I realised that the volume settings are part of the config file. Somehow my provisioning file seems to have no effect. Maybe it is because the provisioning is not working properly. I will let you know about any progress.

I double checked things. Provisioning in general is working just fine, but not for voice.handset_send =
I changed different values, I changed via the provisioning template, by exporting the Phones config file, and the values for "voice.handset_send = " were not accepted. Setting other values via provisioning worked just fine.
I can change the value by editing the export and reimporting and it does take effect.
We are running 28.73.0.48, this is the Firmware Version supported by 3cx.
Maybe I can get in touch with support? I could provide the provisiong file.

Hi,

I checked the provisioning files themselves. The problem is there. The provisioning file for the MAC does not include values for voice.handfree_send =25, and the Type file does inlcude the wrong values.

In the provisioning template there are just the correct values and other changes in the provisioning file are reflected in the MAC-provisioning file just fine. I will have to digg deeper into those different files, until now editing the template in 3cx just worked finde.
