Produce DTMF tone with SIP INFO (T46G) - nicknomo - 03-28-2014 12:11 AM

Hi,

It appears I've run into a technical constraint, where I need to use SIP INFO for DTMF. I'm using the T46G with the latest firmware (28.72.0.205) . The remote side correctly receives the tone from my trunk provider, however no tone is generated locally on the handset. I know SIP INFO isn't supposed to generate anything inband, but is there a way to get some sort of ton on the handset so the user gets an audible acknowledgement that they pressed a key?

Sorry. This version is a special version which only support to upgrade EHS36. After upgrading EHS36 successfully, please upgrade to other version for nomal use.

Well, using 72.0.1, the same thing happens. Is there a solution to this?

Also, is there a later firmware than 72.0.1?

Do you test other DTMF type?RFC2833?

Well, its a technical constraint... I have to use SIP INFO.

I use reinvites on my asterisk server, so the PBX is not part of the audio stream. The phone RTP data is directed towards my VOIP gateway device (a standalone T1 to Voip gateway). If I use inband or rfc2833, then asterisk never receives my dtmf, and I cannot use feature codes to transfer a call, record a call, etc.

I use SIP INFO since the SIP data still goes through asterisk. DTMF codes travel through asterisk on the way to the gateway device, so the feature codes still work..

If this feature doesn't exist, I understand... SIP-INFO isn't supposed to make noise. I was just curious if there was a workaround.
